To celebrate the anniversary of the original 1957 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Roadster, Mercedes has announced they'll be producing a limited number of 50th Anniversary Edition SL550's.

As you can see from the photographs, the commemorative SL has donned a lovely Pewter metallic exterior paint finish, a cognac brown leather interior accented with Black Ash wood interior trim, custom 18" aluminum twin-spoke wheels, and a rear shelf bag complete with Anniversary Edition tag. Of course, the 50th Anniversary Edition SL is equipped with all the standard SL goodies as well.

Pricing for the 50th Anniversary Mercedes SL550 isn't listed, at least not that I found; but if you're interested, I'd recommend you act quickly, 'cause they're probably going to go fast.

PS. I saw a white SL550 a few days ago, it was beautiful!!! Minor but noticeable differences, even from a distance. Very sexxy car!

The interior of this 50th anniv. ed. is gorgeous that color is off the hook!!!

saw one yesterday, could barely tell that it was a f/l before I saw the front bumper, lucky for me I was in close proximity.

That interior colour combination is really good. Not too brown, not too black.. just right!

Wheels are nice, too. I would have hoped that for a major-ish anniversary such as a 50th, you'd have something more substantial.. such as a power hike or brakes or suspension changes.. but I guess this'll do.

lOl, I agree. MB should have done much more. The color schemes are just right but but thay could have been more creative with the wheels and power output.
