Until I left Finland in 74, Mercedes and Volvo always dominated the taxi scene there as long as I can remember. Of course in the late 50's and 60's there were a lot of Volgas and Popedas as well. | | | | | Global Moderator

Reminds me of when I was in Munich... the junkiest cab I saw in all my stay there was a Volvo station wagon. The rest were A6/E/5er and above.
We took a ride from the airport in a E-class cruising at 180 km/h. | | | | | Fanatic

I once rode in a BMW 320d Touring from a Munich subway station to a Mercedes dealership during an internship (I was late). The next day, I was late again and took another taxi, a Mercedes S320 CDI. They both charged the same price, but I recall the Mercedes being a few cents costlier. | | | | | The Photo Phanatic

PS. Didn't we have a same thread in the past? | YES. I have a picture of it somewhere too. I might have posted some taxi pictures before, but these are NEW.

The pictures are not working anymore Chris.
Wish we had a W221 Taxi - I'd flag it everytime I see one .
Almost all NYC taxies are Ford Crown Victoria's & Chevy Impala's. They recently started adding Ford Escape Hybrids to the fleet.
There are some privately owned Toyota Prius, Toyota Sienna, and one Lexus RX400h. The other day I saw my first 2007 Camry as a taxi LOL. Looks like the Japanese are trying to take over | | | | | Global Moderator
