3 F40's and an Enzo - 02-28-2007, 08:03 PM

We had a local car show here on Feb. 17 and about 300 cars showed up. There was quite a variety. Strangely enough nothing too exciting by Naples standards. I was talking to my friends about how we are around exotics every day and that takes the excitement out of it. There must have been over 60 F360's and F430's. What wasn't there is easier to list than what was. No Bugatti, no Mclaren F1 (there is one in town I know of), no Spyker. The only thing that did get my attention was 3 F40's and an Enzo:

You can see in the background a 959 and a SLR. My wife kind of liked the SLR.

More pics from that show are here:

We did another local car show on Feb. 25 in a local golf community- much smaller- I can list these cars easier
My Gallardo
Gallardo spyder
The first automatic Quattroporte in North America
Maserati Grandsport coupe and cabrio
Carrera GT
1973 Carrera RS
1964 356 SC
A few 997 cabs and a 997 GT3
993 coupe- yellow with black 3 piece wheels (nice looking)
Ford GT
Bentley Conti GT cabrio
Bentley Arnage cabrio
Bentley Flying Spur
Jag XK-150
2 E-types
Jag XKR cab
2 F430 spiders
3 F360 spiders
RR phantom
1976 Corvette!
280 SL
BMW Z8

I am going to Sebring in April and see that there is an Ariel Atom registered. I am looking forward to seeing it on the track and I will post pics then.

I brought my 914-6 race car to the first show- it is down the road about 8 cars from the DP. I went by 3 police cars on the way down (put it in neutral and coasted by at idle) and none even looked twice. John has his DP up for sale. He has had it for about a year and it has spent most of the time in the shop

First off, who's John?

Second, what kind of repairs was he saddled with?

John S. is a local guy who owns the DP 935. I don't think I should give his last name without his permission. It has had a top end rebuild at least, and I think one of the cylinders and pistons had to be replaced. The cams were re-ground too if I remember right. The transmission was rebuilt and there was fiberglass work done on the low front spoiler.

When I asked who John is, I thought he was someone at GCZ (from the way you mentioned him).

Thanks for the info on his car, though...I'm always curious what it takes to maintain classics like that. Does he drive it much?
