Does anyone have any news on this, or any news on what sort of chassis the next polo will be running on as it will very likely be shared with the ibiza and fabia!

Hi Poverty

Next Polo/Ibiza/A1 and new Fabia will run on a highly updated version of VWs current Polo platform PQ24 if memory serves correctly

Thanks, I hope the rear suspension will get a full update. Its a bit of a weak link in the chassis compared to the competition.

Cant wait for the next batch of cheap VAG hothatches. Hope it will put the clio and corsa VXR's etc in its place

Every car in that class has a semi indepenent torsion beam suspension that VW had used in the first Golf over 30 years ago. So why change something that VW established?

Cant say that I knew that, I only mentioned it because everyone on the ibiza forum is saying that the rear suspension is technology not fit for 2007

I hope VAG make a stormer of the next chassis. Im planning on getting a turbo version of the next gen polo/ibiza

Torsion beam is a cheap , reliable and durable solution. Toyota , Citroen , Peugeot ect. all have changed their rear suspension to torsion beam the last few years cause for a car of small size and low price (small city car segment) it's an unbeatable choice.

Multi link supsension (like the one Golf/A3/Leon uses) are of course better but also too expensive for a cheap city car like Polo/Ibiza/Fabia.
