Lightbulb How VW can fix SEAT: phaeton's Ideas

This is from an old post on carspyshots http://www.carspyshots.net/zerothread?id=20729

Q:How can we fix SEAT

A:What SEAT needs............
Is the Tango Concept make it RWD for a change http://www.carspyshots.net/zerothread?id=18000

A Proper Sedan not current Toledo something like the Bolero Concept a CLS thing http://www.carspyshots.net/zerothread?id=17998

I also thought VW should experiment with RWD with SEAT (It is possible with new VAG platforms).
The downside to all the above VW's worried about enroaching on VW

Q:I think SEAT should go back to building Marbella & Arosa

A:The problem with that is entry level cars don't make profit.
Example Lupo/Arosa or Smart didn't sell well therefore no money was made................
whereas Lupo GTI is fast so you can up prices therefore making profit, BTW it was a popular model in Lupo range. So with sporty cars, cabriolets etc you can up the price as customers want fast/good looking cars.

Well with the sports saloon being confirmed they are part way to profitting

VW needs to fix themselves first.

Passat and Touran look very old and dated. Scirocco and Tiguan have a very poor interior ect.

Only the Passat CC and the new Golf are in the right direction.

Apart from those two (and possibly the new Polo) i 'm very disappointed with their current model range.

I always thought the Exeo replaced the Toledo.

The once dull but worthy Toledo has become a bit of an four-wheeled oddity. It's not a saloon, it's not a proper MPV because it doesn't have seven seats, it's a tall hatchback and an ugly one IMO. It's the answer for a question that nobody in their right mind would ever ask.

"Errr... What was the question again??? You want an ugly tall hatchback that looks like an MPV, but it isn't one and it's not fast, not particularly good value for the money, either? Why the bloody hell would you want a car like that"? What the F word...

It's an oddball of a car just like the equally odd Renault Vel Satis and the late and just as odd Vauxhall Signum. Ask Renault and Vauxhall how many Vel Satises and Signums they have sold.

mk II toledo was realy good for prestige and sales of seat and as a car it was very good i still have one also. SEAT's biggest mistake was mk III toledo it is so ugly, not good totaly and the huge quality loss interiors i think. Nwe seat models has very weak interior qualitiy.

my toledo has 263600 km mileage but some of my friends has a 2008 leon and his car has more problems than my car.for example every part of the car makes noise in interior. my car still have no noise in interior.

i think seat needs a good saloon. exeo can end this loss. but if it continues toledo's heritage.
