This is something I would never buy, ever, but it is still a quite interesting product. I think it will fare really well. Urbanised people who need some sort of image enhancer. You now, those who like to go sailing twice a year and think they need a quasi-SUV for the job. I tell you, there are a lot of these people around!

More so small households looking into getting the 3er touring will be rolling their eyes towards this one as pricing should be near identical. Touring as seen as dorky these days and this car will enable people on constrained finances to drive a German luxury SUV at an entry level costs. The trade off will be space as the X1 is a tad short and more narrow than the 3er touring. Interior design should be less exciting too but the trade-off are negligible given the style that comes with driving an SUV. Audi A4-all road sure has itself a competitor here.

Correct, but cars like the X1 and 5er GT can really help the regular 3er touring and 5er touring. Because of those niche models, the regular cars can become less utility movers/people movers. They can make the 5er touring less practical and big because of the GT, so to speak...More dynamic and sleek

I am sorry, but I quite don't see the purpose of the videos with the (whatever) + (whatever) = (whatever).

BMW need to market this properly because At the moment who is this car aimed at?

The X1 isn't much of a niche model as cars of the same size have been around for long e.g RAV4. In terms of size and capabilities it's a very traditional and logical car.

So this car is for parents who want the mental "safty" of a SUV but don't actually want a SUV so they get a basically estate which looks like a SUV.
