This is the type of car that's missing in BMW's lineup, something close to a sports car. With the maturity of the M3, there is nothing that resembles the E46 M3 in spirit. The M3 is now a four seater GT and doesn't posses the near exotic qualities of the E46 M3. Adding a metal folding roof to the Z4 has placed it further away from the sports roadster it is now. A 1er on steroids can turn out to be a great success that can deter people from buying a used M3 in search for something fast and tight. The Porsche Cayman fulfils the same needs, it's very capable and nimble like the sports car were during the 90s. I fully welcome this good news that will help balance the growing truck/MPV bias in the BMW line-up. |
