Re: " Forwards not Backwards : BMW Group into 2010 and Beyond.

My doubts were never focused on the BMW engineers' competence because i think they are with the porsche guys the most brillant and lucky in the automotive world, and if it comes to engines, no one can compete aigainst them. The reasons of my doubts were concerning the financial aspect.

Thanks, Scott. So in the AWD line-up, the X6 should be in the fast lane to release followed by F5/V5. Is it decided to call it F5 or V5?

X6 launch in 2008, F5 in 2009.
In X6 xDrive will be standard, in F5 optional.

Sports Cruisers will be called F-series. LuxurySC will be F5, CompactSC will wear F3 badge.

I've checked brand name / trademark registers in US & EU again - BMW AG have filed for "F" names F2 - F9 registration lately in US & EU. No activities regarding "V-series" in progress.

So, "F" is coming from BMW.

Btw, also the following trademarks / brand names have been (re-)registred lately by BMW AG: X6, Clubman, BMW EfficientDynamics, BMW Active Hybrid, X1, 7H, 1- series (in US).

So both the code and brand name will be F5 & F3?

I guess X1 is still an option.

Scott, wasn't that the campaign for the facelifted E39 5er? I vividly recall the exact same copy being used in BMW's print & web at the time.

M1 with a high rev 6 in the new 1er coupe

A dream come thru.

I was so dissapointed with 3 series and 3er coupe got bigger an the m3 is more a GT than an agile car for corners. But an m1 will fill the gap perfect.

M1 Thats my new car.

When can we expect one scott eni?

I am not overly familiar with US marketing , But in order to show up our creativity when we are shown first images - Your brain starts working on how we can approach each model - That one was off the top of somebodys head but it could be used as it befits the model we are talking about.

But the Symbolic meaning of "Forwards never Backwards": resonates quite well from 1er Coupe to the flagship BMW Z9 GT (Gran Turismo) 4dr coupe! And news that Magazine comparisons in Germany between the new C-Klasse and the 3er have shown that BMW is still the true drivers sport sedan.
BMW can only ascend higher!
