I too had a 1980 Mk1 Scirocco 1.6.

-And mine was gold coloured as well, but as far as I remember, it belonged to a dentist, so mine didn't belong to Clarkson, but I too had great moments with it, I loved that car. But then I replaced with a Mk3 1985 Ford Escort XR3i .

According to the DVLA, my ex-Scirocco is no longer on the road. Poor girl was fed to the crusher of death in 1996.
