It's considered much cheaper than before already.

You could expect to pay at least SGD320k for a base S280 W220 a while ago.

I think they have some crazy import tax imposed on cars, around 150% if i am correct, so that is why anything imported is massively expensive

You're right. And we import all cars into Singapore, none are made here.

And Tycoon, you're half right... The S-Class was the class leader for almost a decade, until the 7 Series overtook it last year. Hopefully with the launch of the S300 MB will regain its lost ground (MB was missing a competitor to the 730Li).
