Since 1951, when the model 220 began the lineage of the S-Class, Mercedes-Benz has delivered around 3.3 million passenger cars from this model series to customers. The Facelift has yet to be released. When the Economy resumes the W221 will definitely sell over 600,000 at least. Making it the most successful S-Class since the W126. ![]() Mercedes-Benz is really returning to their over-engineered days.![]() P.S The W212 E-Class has gotten over 50,000 orders already in the US. ![]() Last edited by sako97; 04-11-2009 at 08:31 PM. |

![]() | Meh, these are just sales. What's more important for me is that the BMW 7er is a better car than the S-class for the first time in history. The tables are turning ![]() ![]()

What were you expecting? The W221 has been on sale for years, no worder it has sold more than the F01. But like I said, these are sales only. The 7er is a better, prettier and more modern car ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Although the competition has strengthened, they still have quite a bit to go before they clearly step over the S-Class. BMW is kind of missing the point lately, rather than coming up with inventions that clearly enhance the experience and are relevant to the consumers, they decide to boast about minor technical that will only attract the engineers at VAG or Mercedes. My began spinning when I was half way through the 760i press release. I can't remember the last time I read so much irrelevant tech jargon. Mercedes keep it simple by only stating innovations that make a clear contribution, such as Pre-Safe, ABC, Distronic and Pre-Scan. Frankly a normal person would understand very little of what's in the 760i press release. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Not sure how it is in America but after the facelift the W220 S-Class earned itself a better reputation inside and out and from a reliability point of view. It's still possibly the S-Class which never really lived up to most MB standards. A good and decent car overall but the poor decisions going on at MB at the time ruined what was definitely a car with more potential. I remember when Jürgen Schrempp was retiring from Mercedes-Benz - his retirement package included an € 80 million payout deal. There was so much anger directed at him from Mercedes fans because of what he had achieved during his time there and many people said they would only forgive him if he had the sense and honor NOT to accept this money. I never ended up knowing if he took the money or not... Fact remains, this guy was a full-blown moron. Buying up companies that were heavily into debt like Fokker. Moron.
