I agree with you Bum-man, beautiful colour and alloy wheels. I'd love to see this combination with the black/light cream interior. Should look excellent. Hell I cant wait to see as many different colour combinations as possible.

I actually prefer the design of the old s600's wheels. Much more unusual, and prettier.

Yeah, I like it in the red/brown colour too ....although it's not a colour I would usually choose.

I don't mean to always sound so negative about the W221...it's just that I had very high expectations of this car.......and it isn't what I was hoping for - I just know the next BMW 7 is going to steal so many more sales off Mercedes - this new S class has very little character....it's virtually passionless. Even with the AMG package or S65...just doesn't excite me at all.

The fact that I have never used the W221 as my desktop wallpaper picture - makes it obvious to me that I will never love this car - even the Maybach 57S looks better to me.

Don't get me wrong, I'm still a Benz fan...I'm just hoping the new CL will be as good as I expect it to be....at least the signs are good about that.

I wouldn`t call the BMW 7er a "Passionate Design" In fact I wouldn`t cal; any German car a passionate design. MB BMW and Audi are what I call industrial
designs. Anglo Saxons are never passionate about there designs. Now the Italians are different! Here is a concept of the 2008-09 BMW 7er

I agree. Here is a image from the MBUSA minisite of the Barolo Red Metalic with the optional 18" Chrome 5 Spoke wheel. The wheel shown in the picture you posted is the 19" optional wheel at only $1200 US. The chrome 5 spoke is $1000 US and 0 in the plain alloy finish.

That's a chop that came out ages ago... how accurate do you think that is?

Gosh I love stark, blatent and blanket generalisations. GTA, I'm glad to hear that in our designs, there is never a hint, not even a slight incy-wincy micrograin of passion: all we ever come up with is these so called 'industrial designs' and it seems that we're destined to do for many years to come since you've so kindly pulled out a years-old and slightly hideous chop of a next-7 interpretation which looks, in your opinion, a tad unpassionate.

It's 'their' not 'there' btw, and there's a little button next to the enter key that makes a much nicer apostrophe than the ` key. Just thought you'd like to know.

Yep, I just checked the properties of that file and it says July 27th, 2004.

Two things... if you heard one of Bangle's interview, he is the one who says that the next 7er will spark a new design theme for BMW... just like how the E65 led to what we have in the BMW range. Therefore, don't be surprised if there's nothing evolutionary in the next 7er

Ever seen chops of the E90 in the early days? When the car was still in development stages? Look at that and look at the E90 and you will see what I'm talking about.
