Mercedes W220 S-Class Station Wagon Conversion

This is a discussion on Mercedes W220 S-Class Station Wagon Conversion within the S-Class forums, part of the Mercedes-Benz category; The "station wagon" part of that W220 S-Class is so S210 E-Class estate! IMHO though, it doesn't look that good. ...

The "station wagon" part of that W220 S-Class is so S210 E-Class estate!

IMHO though, it doesn't look that good. Sorta destroys the graceful lines of the W220. And I recall reading something in a magazine which stated that an S-Class estate would flop. People who buy such cars are generally happy with the big trunk space already offered by the S-Class. Also, if they have a family and an S-Class, it's likely that they also have an M-Class or an E-Class ESTATE in their garage for exactly such "family purposes".

That is probably true actually - the E class is an excellent estate wagon (or station wagon) with generous rear luggage space - the idea of an S class wagon is really nice but probably not viable in reality.

What in the whole world is this? For crying out loud get a Ford Galexy or something. Why ruin a S-class.

I would buy one if I could find one for sale.

I own and S500 & E350 Wagon. This would be the perfect combo!

It seems that MB felt something like this car was needed, and gave us the R class.

Correction: It seems that MB felt something like this car was needed, and gave us the horribly-weird R class.
