If any of you have doubts about the Mercedes-Benz S-Class (or the quality of the newer Mercedes models) you need to throw those doubts in the trash right now!!

Here is a direct quote I found on MSN Autos.com about the 2007 S-Class from the JD power study.


"The Mercedes-Benz S-Class has tied with the Audi A8 for having the fewest quality problems in the industry, with just 72 problems per 100 vehicles.
Mercedes-Benz shows dramatic improvement, particularly with it`s newly redesigned S-Class, which improves 63 pp100" said Oddess.

"Overall Mercedes-Benz improves it`s nameplate by 20 positions,
The Greatest rank increase of any nameplate in the study."

ALL Mercedes-Benz models in the study improved substantially and the breadth and speed of these improvements demonstrates the Mercedes-Benz commitment to quality."



This speaks volumes for the brand as a whole, let the war continue!!

The page mentions "Please note that J.D. Power Consumer Center ratings may not include all information used to determine J.D. Power and Associates awards."

Keep one thing in mind: the S-Class is, in this study, in its first year on the market, so the most dangerous year, where all little or big problems appear. Therefore, it may have known some minor issues, but nothing serious so it managed to take the award.

Here, these circles only reports problems, but the ranking may differentiates between a noise/vibration, a little problem and a serious trouble making the car impossible to start or drive.

Having seen some of the ranking for Mercedes in this study, in the past years, nobody can say that they are Benz-biased!

And it is very rare to see a car going to the top in its first year...

Yes, I was just about to point that out but had a phone call. The total overall score has to be rounded off and the S is still better overall!

You have to give the Mercedes-Benz S-Class credit for doing so well in it`s first year. Most cars are extremely problematic in the first year. Give them about 2 years and the bugs should be worked out, the 7er has been on the market for a while, it has had time to improve yet in the overall score, it`s still behind the S-Class!

Give the S-Class 2-3 years. I`ll bet the score will do even better!
