No Remote Control in NEW S class for DVD Changer

I don;t know what happened to German Engineers At Daimler Chrysler. How they can make a Chauffer Driven car with no remote control for DVD Changer. Everytime Owner have to tell its chauffer to change the DVD. I found it very awkward in such high end luxury saloon.

Hope so that they will correct the mistake in face-lifted version. Is there any other way through which DVD's in new S class DVD changer can be changed with some controls in rear.

Re: No Remote Control in NEW S class for DVD Changer

if u order the Rear seat entertainment package then u do get the command controller on the rear seat itself,i'm sure the CD changer can be controlled uning the rear command controller.so why need a remote?

if the owner drives themselves then the rear passengers dont need a remote anyway.

MB has it's head so far up its rear when it comes to these technologies. You can't even get a GL with wireless headphones. Everyone has wireless headphones. MB has got to get it together with suppliers and technology like bluetooth, nav, DVD, etc. I mean for goodness sake. You buy a car that says bluetooth ready and then you have to go spend $405 dollars to by some little cheap pice of plastic.

Land Rover broke down and humbly called on Denso (Asian company) to make them a nav system. It is hands down the best I've seen. Mercedes will continue to wallow a step behind if they keep using these same suppliers.

I'm surprised to hear that. I thought Mercedes had all the good stuff... Only you had to pay for them as options.

Re: No Remote Control in NEW S class for DVD Changer

these niggles can really upset someone
let em give you an example, i bought s sound system for my car some months ago
nothing important, a sony explode unit with 2 350watt ovals. well it came with a remote control, and the radio tself was just $160, the remote most of the time gathers dust in the armrest copartment, but once every month i use it for some idiotic reason
when i am paying $160 for a CD/MP3 player i expect it to have a couple of amenities, and not just the simple bare necessities
now extrapolate this to a huge merc S class, with its even more huge price tag, and you get the idea why such niggles get really annoying
if they offer a remote, most probably it would gather dust in the compartment but when you are paying in the nieghborhood of $100 K, you expect to have one, and use it for that once a month time that you will need it, either because of childishness or to impress your secretary when "driving" her home instead of having to call for Firmin to change the damn channel.

No dear, with the rear entertainment controller you can;t operate a CD Changer. This is what is the most awkward thing i found in new S class. The worst is that is not available also not even as an option.
