Obviously I was told WRONG! I found this info odd from the beginning since the official sketches showed C-pillar without privacy-window.

And now, looking at this spy pic where C-pillare is stripped of camo slightly, I can see no privacy-window at all, just huge & extra-thick C-pillar.

Prospective owners will get the first look at the new RR04 in a secret location somewhere in Paris , not behind the stand at the show during the Paris auto salon.

We have to wait till Geneva 2009 till the unveiling of the 102EX to get the first look at what you will get.

Nice to see it has suicide doors, one unique features on rolls royce. Will there be a LWB version also? and as for the interior, will the cabin have a new look or will it be only a little different from the phantom?

Yes, suicide doors are now a RR design trademark.

I'm a bit confused since there will be no privacy-window in C-pillar: since it was said that was a RR-limo design trademark.

Cabin will be less yacht-like (like in Phantom), but more car-like. With all the kitschy super-luxury trim though.

LWB: no plans yet. But if there will be a demand, I'm sure they will reconsider. Just like they did in Phantom case: when there was sufficient demand for LWB, and RR delivered it.

The extra thick C pillar is a nice way for execs to hide behind when in a traffic jam or something.

Overall, I think I am going to like the new 7er much more than this big beast. While underneath the same car, the Rolls looks big and massive, and the 7er sleek and elegant.

That's what privacy-window is for. With it's curtain which it can be closed to block the view on the rear bench, and so provide privacy to rear-bench passengers.

Eg. RR Phantom has such a typical RR feature.
I guess thick C-pillar without privacy-window demonstrates more chunky sporty & less formal image - like already seen on Phantom Coupe - and that Silver Ghost will follow such design as well:








And I agree with your 7er comment: showing sportiness via sleek & elegant appearence... ... While Silver Ghost is more chunkier & more massive.
