The Body shells and stucture are all pressed , engineered and built in Dingolfling for the Phantom and cabrio basically all the hardwork and then shipped over to Goodwood where they are completely finished from paintshop to delivery.
The Baby RR will follow this same procedure , Goodwood is the prime base for RR Motor Cars and BMW have discussed this many times about building Rolls-Royce's in BMW's plants but the vote always goes "No" To protect the heritage and investment with Rolls-Royce. | | | | | The Following 2 Users Say Thank You to SCOTT27 For This Useful Post: | | | Aficionado

Dingolfing plan will just make body shells for "Baby" RR line. Just like they do for Phantom line (incl. Drophead Coupe & upcoming Coupe).
While all other work & assembly is done in Goodwood. And same case will be with Baby line. To be able to do that Goodwood plant is being enlarged.
Like Scott said: BMW decided to leave RR assembly in UK. Not doing the same brand-damaging thing like VAG did with Bentley (building some Bentley models in Dresden plant). British heritage is a very important part of RR brand image, so no way RR will be built outside UK. | | | | | GCZ's High Court

Really no need to do that.
Really, my sources told me some high BMW officials had been disgusted by how VAG handled Bentley brand. Making a noble British performance brand into a pop-corn high-end luxury brand. Same official were much more impressed with Aston Martin brand management.
Yes, Bentley had much higher sales - that's due more desirable (read less expensive) Continental model line, and much wider dealer network. When RR Baby line will be completed, Goodwood plant enlarged, and dealer network widened then we will be able to make a correct comparison.
While in brand image RR is not only one but two or more classes higher than Bentley. | | | | | GCZ's High Court
