I loved every bit of the old one, it looked superb imo. Especially the rear, so original, I was fond of that car. The interior was nice, too.

My bro had an RS one. What a thing, what a blast! The motor was angry, the speed impression enormous, you really could think you're Loeb in that thing.

However, the steering feel was just awful, and spoiled the fun as you couldn't really place and feel the car how you wanted.

It was the only minus point, other than that it was the most entertaining car of its class by a mile. A real rally-car.

Mmmhhh. Another detail. His RS was few months old, few thousands kms on the clock. He owned it two months, because he had to change the whole dials (didn't show anything any more, from speed to lights)... and before that they had to change something on the A/C which made an awful cracking noise very time you started the car...

So it was beginning to annoy him to become intimate with his Renault dealer...

The new one doesn't look as good as the current one. it's overdone, and almost tacky. Too much. The standard Megane is overdesigned, too, the old one was better.

Quality seems to have improved.

You are very right mate! Just put a mechanical steering of hydraulic on the Megane R.S and you have a perfect race car!
