Yep they are fast, no doubt. All what I say it that they offer a lot less pleasure than the same in petrol.
For me pleasure is very different than speed.
For me, highreving a screaming motor just offers much more pleasure than going fast in a car with a crap noise and the need to change your gears early.
Never said a diesel was slow, just that it offers less pleasure. Therefore it is stupid in a sportcar, but fabulous in a cruiser car, on the road to travel fast, economically, powerfully and now almost noiselessly.
This is what I want from an E-Class or a 5er, so here the diesels have the lead.
But on a sportcar you want something more, that the diesel can't offer.
It has nothing to do with being narrow-minded.
Did you guys know that, at VW, TDI means diesel?

I drive a diesel. I can recognize where the diesel is better. It does not mean that a diesel is better everywhere.
A diesel sportcar, no way for me.
A petrol Golf, no thanks.
