First R8 to be involved in accident? - 09-12-2007, 09:11 AM

It seems that one of the first R8 to hit the streets in Morcow has been involved in an accident although more details are not known for the moment.

More pics after the jump...

Lately there has been reported about some strange series of accidents with the ultimate R8 Audi car. It was not in Russia but in some other West European countries, the newest and limited edition R8 was burned down in matters of a few seconds, even it’s light metal body was melted and nobody knows the reason for those accidents. In Moscow these days we also have one Audi R8 less. But the reasons are not so mysterious as in Europe.

I wouldn't call the above an accident. It seem to have been the typical, act of stupidity.

The owner felt goo about himself, wanted to show off how powerful his car is, gave the car to much throttle at once, rear lost traction, car started doing slalom and crashed.

It's quite a common thing.

Yeah this above is the mark of the good drivers....

There is also a Russian who manages to hit a tree by the side of his A8, which is really something hard to do. The A8 really is not a driftcar, or a dangerous one...

Trouble is that his A8 was cut in two in that accident, but he was alone and remained unharmed.

The R8 seems to burst easily, a test car was also caught burning... And the Q7 also, some cases were reported.
For the Q7, I remember one that lost a front wheel on the highway, quite surprising...

That's why I never buy cars whereas the first year of production.

hm, I wouldn't be so sure in that, that's Moscow after all, maybe "owner" got that car on nice discount, insured 100%, driving little bit, summer is finished so lets crash it and get some money

In Russia, vodka gets treated with more respect than an Audi R8.

Odd, the accident happened in Russia while on that website the writing is in Romanian.
There is a huge difference in language.
