Again, this car does not look unique enough as an AMG product should. A real shame. | | | | | Connoisseur

hu§eindesign: sorry bro if I offended u by saying "needless"
lol what I meant is that this car is needless "at this time only". because AMG has been lazy lately in doing their job effeciently. the latest products are hardly distiguishable from its entry level models. I mean their job is "mainly" limitted to adding new body kit and thorugh the engine they have. I mean look at M division in BMW. They really worked hard to finalize their latest products like the M5, M6 and Z4M. M5 as an example shares almost 15% only with regular 5 series models. where the E55 looks like upgraded E500 (sportpack version).
No offense but AMG should work harder. Lately, it is very rare that an AMG model have beaten any of its rivals (German ofcourse).

Sorry but I have to disagree. AMG engines are more than 90% different than the original MB engine. The new 63 engine is a 100% AMG developement withought any parts from an exixting MB engine. That's one of the reasons why AMG people go crazy when when you all them "tuners". They say that they're "developers", and I have to agree with them. They develope their cars parallely with MB. AMG is just like M (don't know much about Quattro) more than a tuner. | | | | | Global Moderator

Note to all members: When you start a new thread of a new model that attracts interest , like this one, post small pics (below 500 pixels wide) so we can make the thread to appear in the first page of the site.

I'm not sure I understand this post. AMG does just as much to their cars as BMW does to their to transform them from regular to AMG/M models. New engine, brakes, retuned suspension and what not. BMW offers the same "M" kit on their "regular" cars too. You can get a 535d to look just like an M5 if you like, just like a Mercedes E500/E55. There is no way possible that a M5 only shares 15 percent of its parts with a regular 5-Series. That claim I'd need to see in writing. The M5 might be more focused on the track, but that doesnt' mean it nearly a whole new car.

I've never said that AMG doesn't put enough effort in their cars and i definitely don't see AMG cars like dressed up standard cars with monster engines inside, no! I was talking here about a ridiculous product - a 510hp VAN/Sport Tourer. Nobody can convince me that it was a good thing from MB, nobody! Imho, a nice V8 550 engine is more than enough for this car. You want it to look even more sportier? Buy yourself a SP and that's it. Leave AMG versions for E, SL, CLS, CLK and SLK.... Oh yeah, and please, pleeease produce a B AMG, that sounds more logical to me... much more! | | | | | Contributor

The R I agree with though, only after seeing it in production form. For some reason that concept AMG R looked much better to me. It had to be the wheels and the killer grey color.
