| Audi increases production of Q7. -
03-24-2006, 01:40 PM
Many orders for the Audi Q7 , therefore more work for the factory in Bratislava: from the summer the every day production will pass from 200 to 300 Q7 every day, with full year production previewed between 50,000 and 70,000 units.
The orders of the Q7 have already exceeded 16,000, and it has not been still introduced in some European markets (where it will arrive at the end of March), and also in USA and China (June).
The Q7 is entirely European made: production of the body and assembly takes place in Bratislava, Slovakia, while motors (3,2 and 4,2 FSI and 3,0 TDI) come from Gyor in Hungary.

| Audi Enjoys Strong Orders for Q7. -
03-25-2006, 09:56 AM
Audi Enjoys Strong Orders for Q7, Preps for April Unveiling of New TT AUBURN HILLS, Mich. — The Audi Q7 is on its way to becoming the second highest volume vehicle in the German automaker's U.S. lineup, just behind the A4, based on U.S. preorders, Inside Line has learned.
Audi spokesman Alan Hall said there are "already over 1,000 preorders in the system in the U.S., which is right where we want to be." The SUV is due to launch in June.
Audi has targeted 25,000 to 30,000 U.S. sales for the Q7 per year. Reuters said on Friday that the company expects to sell up to 70,000 units of the Q7 this year, after getting more than 16,000 orders by early March. The Q7 went on sale in Europe this month and will launch in the U.S. and China in June. Brisk demand has prompted Audi to increase production of the model to 300 units per day from 200.
In the meantime, Audi will hold the worldwide premiere of the new TT in Berlin on April 6 at a German government initiative called "The Land of Ideas." The initiative is designed to honor ideas that originated in Germany; Audi is the corporate sponsor of the event. - ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER | | | | | Connoisseur

| Audi Q7 pulling hard out of the gate, beating initial projections -
03-25-2006, 11:58 AM
Audi AG announced Friday that it has already received 16,000 orders for the Q7 crossover, which was just launched at the beginning of March. The worldwide launch of the new model remains ongoing, with the crossover selling in most of Europe by the end of March, and startups in the U.S. and China scheduled for June. Other markets will follow in the second half of the year.
Audi has already increased production rates 50-percent to meet the unexpectedly strong demand, to 300 units a day. The company is anticipating annual sales of up to 70,000 units. The mulitnational Q7 is being assembled at Audi's new Slovakia plant (pictured above), which is already running triple shifts to meet demand. The Q7 powerplants are built at Audi's engine facility in Hungary, while its German factories are producing other components and most of the bodywork.

OTOH it seems than German car makers make more ugly cars now than before and Bangle is the one who started the trend. | | | | | Aficionado
