I see a lot of ...uhmm...dislike for the Q7,but the truth is that it depends on the market. The local market here is very SUV oriented and there aint a soul that thinks the Q7 is ugly. Small, maybe, but not ugly. It's seen as the most beautiful and sporty of them all. The only thing coming close to it in sales is the ML, but GLs are a rare sight, and the X5, at least the new version, is just gaining some traction. Right now I would say they are both outsold 5 to 1 (maybe more) for GL and 3 to 1 for the X5. You can barely be around the nicer parts of the city without seeing 4 or 5. And we are not a particularly crowded country. Here it shines, compared to less gracefull SUVs. It's funny how different culture appreciations may be. Here, its stylish. And I can see the facelift doing some damage to X5's momentum.

It probably depends on the car. I'm sure if this was a new BMW with LEDs light it might be consider "Award" winning.

Even though the Q7 has an extensive use of LED ligts, it still looks great. I could see if the LEDs we all along the windows and in the rims and along side the door.....then it might be a big issue. But Audi's look fantastic with LEDs...especially the S5.

May I ask where you're from if the 'new' X5 has just been released in your market and you think the Q7 is small.....??? In Europe, pretty much only the Range Rover is a bigger car/SUV, and the X5 is almost due for a facelift and can be seen on every corner of the street? Alaska or something

Strange how markets and market requierments differ...Worldwide and the still biggest SUV market the USA, both the ML and X5 outsell the Q7.
Don't get me wrong, the Q7 is not ugly - but Christmas tree...YES, YES, YES. Audi has gone LED mad and overdoing something was/is NEVER a good thing. I am the BMW X - guy AND my second choice would be the Merc GL, then ML and the Q7 last. One VW group SUV that really outshines their own Q7 is the Toureg...I quite like it ALOT!
