Re: New Audi Q5 Thread Part II (Spy pics & info) - 07-27-2007, 03:59 AM

I really hope Audi won't put A5 fascia (headlights & air intakes) & rearlights all over the model line.

I really do. But based on Huck's latest impressions of future Audi models A5-ization of Audi model line is unevitable.

It's really cool to see some difference between Audi core models (not incl. TT & R8). But as I said many times - when Audi find some distinctive design elements they spread them all over the model portfolio immediately, and make them common (eg. single frame grille, rearlights A3 SB, A4, A6 Avant etc, air intakes, etc).

Family resemblance - yes, cloning - no!

I'm quite irritated when I recall how BMW were criticized (in automotive press) because of "same sausage, different lengths" designs in the past, but now when Audi & some other car makers are doing the same everything is OK. Funny.

Better to be criticised for "same sausage, different lengths" than to have "fire Da Silva" online petitions (like what happened in other companies).

must admit Audis look too similar over the range, the Q7 is probably the best, but the other latest addition, A5, it isn't much improvement over the A4 which is pretty near for a brand new model..

^^
Can that be some other model, like the Q3 or an A4 all road. We have already seen full body Q5 mules which is why I don't see any point in Audi using the B7 body to test Q5 suspension or chassi.

That's one of the Q5 test mules that we had seen in the past.Is that show on the background? That's probably an older photo.

Do we have any spy shots of the interior ? Would it follow the same design philosophy as the Q7 and the A5 ? I really like what Audi is doing with their designs. It seems more progressive and imaginative than Mercedes.

Then again, give me a CL interior anytime...

I heard that the interior will be similar to the A5 with different details (air intakes ect.).
