![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: 997 TT with straight pipes. Interestingly the Fabspeed Maxflow for the 997TT is $3695 whereas the Dual tip Fabspeed Maxflow for the 930 that I recently put on mine was only $995. Only the Fabspeed tips for the 997TT are $750. Weird how one always has to pay through the nose for the latest and the greatest. Slightly off topic but still about the price differential for the old and the new: the other day I had the oil change done and even though the job involves removal of two plugs and the changing of the oil filter which is easily accessible, I did not want to do it myself because I don't care to crawl under the car when it's on the jack stands. So, rather someone else take the risk. I called the dealer to find out how much. They no longer had the info for the 930 models so they priced me on the 996. The price was $318. I went back to CARR Industries who changed my turbo and headers: less than $118. Quite correctly, they only charged me for half an hours worth of labor ($42) and the rest was the filter and new gaskets + shop supplies. The point being: For the latest ones, they make you pay because for some reason they can. I think there's some of this with the price of the Fabspeeds too.

Edit: The sound on the video maybe somewhat similar to mine. At one point on the video they got to an idling situation and that burble sounded familiar. Hard to tell because I hear the sound from the inside and only know the idle sounds well from the outside. When we were dynoing the car it did sound a bit like that when the revs got really high. But I'd need to hear them side by side.
