You mean that Audi will overtake them in 3 years?

You wish MB will bounce back when within the next three years. The biggest reason why BMW has had a great year is becasue of the introduction of their bread and butter car, the 3er and by next year or the year after the hype over the car will have decreased and therefore BMW will unlikely sell as many cars the next two years.

Damn that was a long sentence.

They way i see it Mercedes has the biggest model range right now, almost twice as many as Audi and still it sells less than BMW. The just don't have the momentum to go up again right now. Perhaps they will but not soon.

That's what i was saying. Mercedes has at least 10 different models including some semi commercials like Vito/Viano ect. which of course are included in the sale figures. Still despite the new S, R, B and M class they are flat this year which means that the other models are falling.

The size of the model range isn't what's important here. As I have mentioned earlier MB compromised and not paid too much attention to the C and E class which are in the segments where most cars are sold. Therefore MB has to make the next C-class a fantastic car becasue if it doesn't turn out to be fantastic their C-class sales will stay as they are today.

No matter how good the new C class will be the competition will also advance. New 3 series is light years ahead of the other two right now in most aspects and all new Audi A4 will come only one year after new C class with the prospect of being the best overall. There is a really good chance new C class won't be good enough given that it will surely be more expensive than the competition.

Off course it needs to extremly good concidering that the competition is really stiff but the E-class isn't doing as bad as C-class. With companies like VW and Lexus joining the war the next c-class needs to be top noch not to mention much cheaper. The current one is extremly expensive and you have to pay 30k+ if you want to get one with a decent engine and equipment.

BMW 3er is like S-class, hard to beat in sales. But unlike S-class there are more cars to choose between in 3ers segment so it wont be easy to be a best seller.
