The CLK was recently facelifted, and the drive was definitely improved. It's still no BMW 3-Series nor does it try to be, but the ride won't be dissapointing either.

I was able to take a pre-facelift CLK240 for a spin - the handling was totally ok. The steering wasn't that vague, the suspension sturdy yet smooth, overall the car was sporty and comfortable. Despite the outdated engine, I found the CLK240 to be an enjoyable car, especially in regards to handling.

With the facelift, the CLK will drive better, trust me. Either way, it all comes down to what you want. For me, the CLK550 is too much, I'd go for a CLK320 CDI or CLK350.

Actually, I would think BMW also thinks a naturally aspirated V8 is a superior thing, especially for their ultimate M division, wouldn't you say??

its certainly not as powerfull as the new V8´s-- but sure its powerfull as some V8´s..

Now i love the 335 but there is a limit to its abilitys..ppl need to understand that and just dont blindly belive that the engine is better than a modern new V8--cause that is not the case.. im sorry

PS
what about the V8 in the coming M3.. why didnt they use a high tuned I6??

.

Everyone is surprised how comfortable the car is and same time being a sporty car. Its not like you are getting backpain and need to stop every 20 minutes cause your car is uncomfortable. 335i is no M3 and a "uncomfortable" is no reason not to buy a 335i. Even older people can enjoy this car.

sorry but its something old sitting in your head Artist, im sorry.
of course its not powerful as 6.2 liter V8 with 500hp for obvious reasons.

I have been using smilies when I talk about V8's, you being a little bit too serious here artist. Could it be becuase you connect Mercedes with V8's

The 335i 6-cylinder is a highly sophisticated 6-cylinder, definitely one of the best in its class.

You can't really compare it to a V8 in that sense though. A 6-cylinder should be compared to a 6-cylinder, a V8 to a V8 IMO.

Re: 335i or clk 550? - 11-30-2006, 09:47 AM

As it has been said, it's about personal preference

My personal preference is the 335i. As far as i know the CLK550 is a little more expensive but boasts more power, however i believe the 335i is a little faster. So it's an even trade there, but if your looking for the more sporty of the two i think the 335i would be the best choice.

P.S -Damnit every time i write "335i" i put 355i. Lol
