What do you think of new MB S-class?

1. Great 28 %
2. So - so 19 %
3. Disgusting 9 %
4. Little Maybach 12 %
5. A BMW 7er copy 32 %

Where is the love:
What do you think of current BMW design?

1. Excellent 23 %
2. Brave 19 %
3. Leading 8 %
4. Boring 5 %
5. Repulsive 44 %

Too bad for the competition that the sales aren't according to this pole.

LOL, if only there would have been an answer like "a disqusting combination of BMW 7er and Maybach", man that would have been the 53% answer.
But nevertheless these polls are meaningless.

Why? Because A class is a mini-minivan?

The C class hatchback (sportscoupe?) would have been more appropriate, but I don't think they make it anymore.

Going over the poll, Audi did damn well.

Pretty much, also you're comparing a FWD (A-Class / A3 [when not Quattro]) to a RWD (1-Series) car. The C-Class Sportscoupe would indeed have been the better competitior. And they still make it in Europe. They just came out with the C160 Sportcoupe (122-hp) which uses a N/A detuned version of the 1.8-l supercharged 4-cylinder.

Every test Ive seen, its always A vs 1er and A3. Something we have learn live with. When BMW Compact existed, they tested it against C SportCoupé but now when Compact dont exist they use 1er. So I guess they use the closest or most similar car.

Re: Interesting: Results of AMS polls - 11-03-2005, 07:04 PM

A results that surprised me:

Z4 (36%) won over SLK (28%) in "Most attractive roadster" voting. I would expect SLK to win with ease.

RS (41%) beat M (34%) in "Most exciting original/ in-house tuning", AMG only 3rd with 14%. I would expect M to win, but I guess Audi is riding high in Germany at the moment.

Favourite hatchback: A3 and 1er almost tied (44% vs. 42%). I would expect A3 won by a margin.

best design among luxury brands: Audi 1st with 42% (no surprises), but BMW & MB tied at 2nd place (both 25%) is a surprise for me. I would expect MB design is more respected.

And: 47% of voters find 1er amazing!

It seams the opinions from a year ago (44% voters find BMW design repulsive) has softened a lot: now the people even start to like BMW designs. Even more: they prefer it over MB!
