I for one, didn't misinterpret your original post Stuttgarter, I took it to mean that you were talking about people in general - conclusions you have drawn through your personal experiences. I think PorscheGuy perhaps thought you were being specifically critical of Californians.

To assume that I was gerneralizing all people that live in the city is stupid, and goes to show how little intellegence others use when it comes to carrying on a discussion, if you don't know something about what someone else is saying, don't assume you do or come up w/ some sort of guess, ask, otherwise you're asking for trouble. End of discussion.

Nothing wrong with clarifying a statement especially since this is type and hard to catch sarcasm, and meaning sometimes, no reason to get defensive, just respond with clarification.
