Back in 2006 I went on holiday to Autun in France where some friends of mine live. One day we drove out to the local Intermarché, and when we parked up we found this:
It was a good five minutes before I could stop laughing long enough to take some pictures. Shortly afterwards the car's disgruntled owner appeared and caught us snapping away, and as he approached us he asked rather sternly why we were photographing it (he worked at the Intermarché you can see in the background). My friend (whose French is far better than mine) managed to remain po-faced enough to explain (read: bullshit) that I was taking photos in order to submit them to a UK-based competition for the 'most tastefully modified cars'...
A year later I went on holiday there once more, and when we returned to go shopping again we discovered, to our horror, that the intervening twelve months had brought about further erm, 'modifications':
