Audi is doing great. A4 is the best seller and A6 is very close to E and 5 while a few years ago E class outsold A6 more than 3 to 1 (and 5 series nearly 2 to 1). So E class is doing worse than any previous generation.

WOW, I'm really suprised that the CLS has out sold the S, A8 and even the 7er. Great job MB And even though the CLS has been selling well the E-class is still on top of the leauge which is even more suprising concidering that it is older than the A6 and 5er which are very comepetive cars. I guess MB is the thank the Taxi companies for the high sale number.

I bet by the end of it's life cycle the w211 outsells the w210. It's not a matter of the E performing particularly poorly, but the competition really upping the ante. The A6 is truly a fantastic car. Mercedes better recognise they've got a big job to do with this facelift.

The golf is a superb car for its price. As an overall package it trounces the competition as is worth the bit of extra $.

The Germans would have very well known that a new S was on its way, hence the weaker sales. The new one will sort this out no problem.

Personaly I hope the CLS, 7er, A8/S8 will outsell it.
Also, one thing that pisses me off, WTheF do germans see the MINIs as models of BMW instead off a stand alone brand ?!

I redid the list to give people an idea of VAG's market share here by bolding out the VWs and the Skodas in the list.
