I will talk about Audi.

Frankfurt had premiers of Audi Q7 (and Hybrid version) and facelifted A4 cabrio.

Tokyo has TT Shooting Brake and Audi S8.

So Tokyo had more surprising debuts.

One thing I think will be common across the board for all three German luxury car brands is that Geneva will be the place with the most important debuts in the near future. Detroit will bring something for each I'm sure, but Geneva will be the "big one". Both Frankfurt and Tokyo were rather tame imo, nothing really stunning, but some important debuts nevertheless. And don't forget that since 2005 was IAA, 2006 will be Paris, another big one for Germany's elite.

I really don't know what Audi will show in Geneva. Audi S6 maybe one premier and there are rumors about a Audi Q5 concept but apart from that?

You don't think the new GT-R preview was stunning? For us Japanese car lovers that's about as stunning as you can get heh heh!

That's true cause there are only a few Japanese cars that deserve a second glance and GT-R is one of them.

Yeah man GT-R thing was hot.. without that Tokyo would have been pretty dead.. GT-R rocks..

I guess not because it seems to be more or less the same thing they've been showing the last couple of years - just a concept. I think its time for the real thing to be shown.

No, I don't think this is merely a concept car. In the same way as BMW preview M cars, like the BMW Concept M5, which are so darned close to the finished article, the GT-R Proto is very very close to the final product - hence all the fanfare and the Carlos Ghosn introduction. The motoring world stood up and took notice because this is the GT-R that so many of us have been waiting for. Sure, some detail cosmetics will be altered and the extensive use of carbon fibre will make way for sheet metal - but the general form and line is there for all to see.
