Cmon!! MB has always made bigger engines, I think its classy. Just something for Mercedes-Benz...

Pffff shame??? You re talking about Mercedes-Benz, the only thing that MB would shame about is the bad quality of the previous models, I hope its solved with the new models

I like the 1er... I think most people would agree. Now, I am not a big fan of the X3.

No matter what you guys think 1 series and X3 account for more than 20% of BMW sales and are the main reason for BMW's record sales the last two years. On the other hand Mercedes is also introducing new models like B and R but their sales are constant. I guess that has to do with high prices/ drop in quality/bad marketing.

So then you should add the A3, A3 Sportback and then possible Q5?
I don't see why there's no need for them. If you wanted a little hatchback, it's nice to have to be able to chose something nicer than for example, the Golf or Focus.

HOwever, the whole MPV deal (aka a van), I'm not too happy with.

Hp,Torque and fuel consumption.. and as far as relaibility goes.. idont think any of the big germans have probs with that..especially when it comes to low mantinance diesel engines..

PS
5.0 petrol V8 is gr8.. but so is the new 500 engine from MB putting out 388hp..
Do you seriously think an engine is better because it has better hp and better Nm necessarily?? Because I can tell you that neither the M3 or M5 won those awards because of that. But listen, I'm done throwing rocks at each other... buy whatever car you like

Excuse me but A and B class are mini vans which is not the same with A3 and 1 series which are hatches. I would hate if Audi made a minivan and noone should mention the A2 cause it never sold in big numbers and looks less like a van.

Re: Alright alright... - 10-22-2005, 01:48 PM

Times change. MB can't always be the conservative company it once was. Many customers in this day and age want something more exciting, design-wise. While the new S-Class is very bold, it still offers the traditional core Mercedes values such as comfort and safety, but now with a lot of sport injected into it. Customers change, and carmakers must respond. That's basically the point I want to make.

And I don't think the new MB designs look "American" at all. They still have that Germanic look and feel to them, albeit with a bit more soul and moderness injected into them.
