I've seen it in real life. I really think Ford has moved the Taurus too far up-market.

Really... it looks like the offspring of an Aston and a Taurus. I'm glad you didn't post a pic of the front of the car.

How would you describe the built in target market for this car?
That's a very good question Donau; and one best answered by Ford's CMO. Personally I have little understanding of the people who buy Jags, but there's certainly an appetite out there for British-style luxury cars.

What I appreciate the most about the XK is that it felt like a British car. Not like I'm terribly knowledgeable about these things, but from my layperson's perspective it was akin to driving a DB9 with the overall decorum cranked down a notch.

Like I said.... from the rear and rear 3/4, this car looks like a real exotic.

Beautiful car & great pics Oz...I agree with you..no matter where the car would stack-up in comparative tests, it occupies a niche of it's own.
