Top Gear back 7th May - 04-24-2006, 11:12 AM

It's now confirmed that Top Gear will be back on 7th May

It will be an 8 episode run with a 6 week break between episode 4 and 5 because of the world cup

I'm still excited and happy though

Be careful with what you wish for: Following Jeremy Clarkson's departure in 1999 the Top Gear audience fell from six million to under three million, resulting in the BBC's cancellation of the programme in 2001. (Wikipedia)
... and in 2002 Clarkson returned with the show we know today.

I watched some of the older (late 80's - early 90's) episodes recently, it used to be a much more serious show (if you ever watched Trafikmagasinet you would feel right at home)... they had things like Tiff doing a 'proper' road test of a Skoda Favorit with luggage space measurements and such. Only Clarkson's tests had some sort of edge back then.

As in fun and good laugh, the quite frankly it's not as serious/ true show like
