![]() | Car alarms So.. As you lot know I have a yaris.. Recently at a local canes (fast food place). Some kid that shoulda been a stain on their parents sheets rather then a living breathing human being.. Actually leaned on my car while I was in it.. a few of them did actually.. I parked and started talking to my girlfriend.. and they SAW me in my car... and then leaned on it... If I Had a gun.. I would have probably stepped out and told them to get off of what is legally my property...(exaggeration). I can only wonder how this will go when I get a porsche.... Even if its a cayman s.. I will still be defensive of my car.. However, the situation will probably get worse seeing as its an attenting getting car.. and I could just see a couple of kids thinking their hot shit for getting a picture right next to the really expensive, fast and nice car and pretending its their own for a few minutes.. So far the only solution I have found is to have the most annoying car alarm possible I can find.. and hook it up so that if anyone gets close for more then a second... It will be the equivelent of a dog whistle for humans and drive them crazy. While I work at lowe's in the parkin lot and I hate all the cars that are beaten up in shitty condition and still have alarms... However, after seeing a kid run up and start hitting a random vehcile.. (the kid was 5 and it wasn't hard.. but, I would be pissed if I ever walked out and saw a kid pretending to beat the shit out of my car while his mom sat their and watched him).. So.. have any of you ever had any situations with people touching your car? 0.o how do you solve those problems? The only solution I have is get an alarm that is annoying enough to try and keep people from being too close to it.. And.. Some people would say "whats it gunna hurt if people lean on your car"... Well... Considering a SMALL bottle of paint for a yaris is 7 dollars and it still won't look as professional as a real paint job... When you spend 60k on a car.. it better sure as hell not get scratched by some annoying 15 year old leaning on it.. Plus if they are so brazen as to lean on it while I am in the car I don't want to ask what they may do when I'm not around.. Plus while I don't think it was the case that time.. All it takes is some "emo" in trip pants with chains hanging down to mess up the paint.. or if not even trip pants a bracelet or watch while they set their arms on my trunk leaned over to act "cool".. ANyway... Any other means of protecting that investment? Alarm that will drive people crazy and make them step back is good.. but, anything I can get helps. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | That the car and rev the bollocks off it, they would move then! As for people damaging or even leaning on other peoples cars, it drives me insaine...To see someones pride and joy which they have worked for being damaged by some idiot really annoys me ![]() ![]()

![]() | had my girlfriend not immediately stepped out of the car I was literally going to start backing up with them leaning on it.. Yeah sure.. may make the situation worse because they may drag whatever is on their clothes across it be it chains or just metal buttons on some jeans.. (if they even still do that 0.o).. Yeah.. I was GIVEN my car.. It was something of a graduation present.. and I have taken the best damn care of it I can and treat it like it is the last one I'll ever own. Only thing I hate more then the stupid little kids that do it.. are the parents who didn't teach their kids to respect other peoples property... They don't respect other peoples property.. they don't respect their own... so their own stuff...gets tore up.. why would they care if anyone else's does? I take pride in pretty much anything I own.. my apartment, My 32" lcd tv my ps3 and my computer. ANyone contemplates touching them.. I'd kill em. (hell even my gf knows to be extra careful when using my laptop).... So why.. WHY would you just lean on a 13,000 dollar piece of equipment? much less one that does not belong to you? are children just that socially inept? or has society just degraded in the area I live (I live in a college town.. so.. thats got a lot to do with it.. no one had the nerve to do this kinda stuff where I'm from). And as I said.. when you get a bigger more powerful and more exotic car that problem can't get any better... Maybe a few poor singe moms might keep their kid on a leash cause they know if they get caught the owner WILL want the single mom to pay for damages to his car done by her hellborn offspring.. However, the teenagers/jealous adults have to get worse.. I know my girlfriend told me her moms Benz is something of a target of "road envy"... where people don't want to let her pass just because she is driving an slk.. However, I can't imagen how close to producing a mortal combat style fatality on some punk kid who leaned up on my Cayman S, SLK, or vehicle of that nature.. maybe something like this will become standard on nice cars YouTube - South African Car Flamethrower While I'm thinking about it.. I really thing you should be able to buy a "prestige warrenty".. I'd pay good money for a warrenty on my vehicles appearence assuming it was reasonable.. Nothing is quite so frustrating as knowing you can get your vehicle that "factory quality" paint back when its been scratched.... Even if lower end cars couldn't get it (I could understand lower end cars get purchased more, and they go to more people.. which means even more irresponsible people get them blah blah blah).. I think it would be fair on higher end model cars or higher brand cars.. Someone opens the door and slams it into yours? well thats ok its under warrenty.. Some jealous 15 year old keys your car because he got a slk instead of an slr? well thats cool. You did pay 60 thousand dollars to get this vehicle.. and we do have pride in our company so we will repair it since you paid extra gravy and got the warrenty. I'd be willing to pay pretty well for some sort of insurance on that level.. I'm not saying I ONLY want a porsche because its a porsche.. however, when you buy a high end vehicle of superior quality.. I want to be able to say yep... I'm Joe Cool and I won a porsche. And the not have my mom ridicule me "YOU SPENT 60K ON A CAR AND IT GOT SCRATCH LOL I TOLD YOU IT WOULD AND ITS POINTLESS TO SPEND THAT MUCH MONEY ON A CAR CAUSE ITS GUNNA GET TORN UP LIKE ANY OTHER CAR."Yes.. my mom highly objects to me buying a vehicle.. and despite me being a fairly good driver.. everyone else "tears up and abuses" vehicles besides her.. So.. it would be nice to say.. "yeah.. I have insurance on that... its covered by the manufacturer... plus I can do zero to 60 before your sequioa even dreams of doing it".. |
