Well you know I saw the 7 at Detroit, but this Individual version was even better. Its not perfect (M3, X6), but I'd park one in my fantasy garage now for sure. The interior is where I think it really stands out the most.

I too went to the Chicago Auto Show...twice. Once was for this event called First Look for Charity, and I went a second time during normal hours. The charity event was nice because there were much less people and you had more access to some of the other cars. Though the later openings had an extra wing full of cars to see.

The one thing that bothered me was the lack of any presence what so ever from Porsche or Aston Martin. I was quite excited to see a Panamera or the new Caymans and Carreras up close. Even though it would be better to drive them, sitting in them would have been nice. You would think that Aston would be interested in building on its James Bond hype by putting a car or two on the floor to get people excited about the brand. Another car I was excited for was the Ferrari California Spyder, that was another disappointment for me.

Yeah that was really a letdown. No Porsche, Ferrari (only one pitiful F430 shown by a dealer), Bentley (1 car), or Aston-Martin.

It is just a matter of time before these companies realize that Chicago and the surrounding suburbs is a much larger market for high-end European cars than Detroit and its surrounds suburbs will ever be, and start showing up in Chicago with the glitzy displays that they do in Detroit. Out with the pointless glitz in Detroit and on to appealing to a larger market in a lower-key show like Chicago will be the shift in coming years, IMO. I can understand cutting back right now, but Ferrari has never felt they needed to do Chicago. I know full well they sell more cars here than they do in Michigan, so it is press coverage (worldwide) that they crave in Detroit, it can't be the potential buyers.
