Best And Worst Selling Cars Of 2005 - 01-30-2006, 06:35 PM

In yet another vain attempt to convince the world that slide shows are the future of the internet, the good folks over at Forbes have taken it upon themselves to bestow us with another world-class presentation, this time outlining automaker's best and worst selling models of 2005.

I'll give you one guess which two Mercedes models made the list.

Now back to Forbes' ridiculous website. How difficult would it be to actually have the content of the story on a page, rather than a popup that devotes roughly 25% to the actual story and the remaining 75% to advertisements? And who set the timing of the slideshow? Each slide pauses for like 10 minutes before moving on to the next one...

Please, if any of you can actually sit and endure the entire Forbes' slideshow without constantly pressing the next buttons, I'm dying to hear from you.

You can check out all the fun for yourself by clicking - ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER

Oh, and if you didn't guess - the lucky winners were the C-Class and the SLR, with 60,658 and 200 units sold, respectively.

That's just it... they won't change that trend. I live in Australia, but currently am visiting USA and I am simply staggered at the number of 4WD's, SUV's, pick-ups, etc. It's a big shock to me.

...and oh... whenever I see some teenage guy who still goes to high school driving around in a huge pick-up... i just laugh...!!

..god bless america.

I was also shocked at how many trucks there are around here when I first arrived because back in Europe, these things are almost non-existent. However, after what happened with Hurricane Katrina, people are realizing how much it sucks to have to pay almost 100 dollars to fill up (although it's still not as bad as Europe I guess).

The months after the fuel prices went up, sales of HUmmers went down by over 50%. That's why the big 3 US companies are in so much crap right now. They all rely on Americans buying trucks. So now they have to shift to economy cars.
