Well right now I drive a $55K car, but it is just a lease. I will not buy any car right now since I have no job. When I get a another job in a few years a car would depend on how much I make.
With the right job I would spend over a million. But basing it on how much my dad makes, with no major bills other then house and saving up for a few years I could possibly spend 100K, but that is a lot of ifs.

I think all most of my automotive needs can be satisfied for under 150K.

I agree with you Marcus ...but ultimately, it comes back to what one can afford to pay and how much they want a particular vehicle. If you want a Bugatti Veyron, you have to pay the going price ...if you can't afford that price then.......

Wouldn't this be relative?

Even if I had money shooting out of my butt I would be pretty hesitant to just drop 500k for something really outlandish like an SLR. I would be more than satisfied with just an R8 or a 911. Realistically, I don't think I will ever spend more than 40 thousand dollars for a car to own. Not worth it. No matter what it is. Lease is a different story though. With leasing you get a lot of people driving around in cars they really can't afford to own. It's all relative to how much you make I guess.

Re: How much money would you spend for a car? - 06-24-2008, 04:16 AM

It really depends of the money I'll earn. If my income goes high, I'll accept to pay a higher price for my car, if it don't I'll be happy with my current Golf.
One thing is for sure, I won't make any sacrifice for my car. I love cars, but they are not my priority at all.

Re: How much money would you spend for a car? - 06-24-2008, 04:38 AM

I would spend as much as I have! If I had really much money I would certainly spend half a million or more for a Zonda F or something like that, wothout hesitating! So, >150 k for me.

My friends/family criticize me often when I say that, but I just love cars and I don't know what's so bad about it...I'm sure that if I had so much money I'd also give it to poor.

Re: How much money would you spend for a car? - 06-24-2008, 05:04 AM

For me the amount I would spend on a car would off course be limited by my income. If I would desire to own a 130k car I had the means necessary to finance it then I would buy the car.
