![]() Just to clarify about my track days.....it is never a RACE......it's all about lapping the track at a pace that you're comfortable with. Having said that, I can't deny how fun it is to try to keep up with or even pass cars that are supposed to be much faster than you by the specs. I derive great pleasure in driving my car on the track at a pace that is rapid, yet within my and my car's limits. It's the only place I can safely take advantage of my car's performance. I personally find straight line drag racing on the streets to be quite one dimensional and unsafe. And to answer your question, I find my tires can last 3-4 track days. The outside edge is where they wear out the most, especially my front tires. My tires are street tires, not R-compounds.

Speaking of risk, here are 2 cars that hit the wall at Mosport last week. Both got a flatbed to take them home and major $$$ for repairs will be needed. ![]() ![]()

I know its a little off-topic, but ive noticed on a lot of USA Porsche's that they have those bulbous pieces of bumper around the rear licence plate, that remind me of stoppers on a train! Why do they have those? Im pretty sure in the UK our Porsche's dont?!

![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: My track day at Mosport International Raceway We have been stuck with those since the 1970's. I suppose our government believes they make the car impervious to rear end collisions. |
