Well, I read that all the thermal power plants in China that run on carbon and fossil fuels pollute more than all cars in the world. It's time to understand that not only cars are polluting but there are many other sources of pollution.

I agree that everyone of us should be more conscious about these problems and try to live in a more environment-friendly way when we can..
But I'm never going to abandon my passion for cars because of pollution, no way!! Big countries could do much more about this problem but it's not easy to give up on so much money...

I don't feel guilty at all, maybe once China, Mexico, India and other super emition producing countries like Andorra clean up their act then maybe.
But then all of my familie's cars are pretty clean, my 87 190E is a lot better then many newer cars.

This past weekend I drove to Palm Springs and back, going I got 27 MPG averaging 70MPH and on the way back with four people and luggage I got 26 MPG averaging 75 MPH (hitting 90 a lot) Not fun going 20 over and looking back at a highway patrol car, but the feeling you get once he passes you...

Naaa I'm not with the technology in cars theses days the Co2 emission is nothing compared to before. Theres other things which produce more pollution than cars, it's just a theory and a money grabbing idea because nearly everyone has and everyone relies on them so what is the best way to get money off people..Up the price of petrol and other silly payments your charged for driving Oh and my parents drive a 1.3 Daihatsu Charade and a 1.8T Audi A6 and they hardly kill the earth

No I don't feel guilty at all. Why? Simple. My car has passed all the CARB testing. So if my car is not considered as a polluter, than I have no reason to feel guilty. I know the car still pollutes somewhat, but I do have a life to live, which requires me to drive everyday.

My dad definitely feels guilty. He drives two V8 luxury sedans and both drink fuel like there's no tomorrow. People ask us, 'why do you want to sell your A8 for a smaller car? It's already the best you can get.' because they don't understand how much wasteful we feel whenever we're at the pumps or whenever we look at the fuel consumption gauge. So in a bid to contribute, one way or another towards less emissions, my dad wants to sell his A8 to lower his carbon footprint. Hopefully, a diesel can do most of the commute and the Maser will be used just for those special days.

Is that a good idea? Or does anyone here think our plan is flawed. I know passing on the A8 to another person and then buying a new diesel is using more resources, does that actually mean we're increasing our carbon footprint? I'm not too sure to be honest.

No.

Perhaps if I had a Hummer, I'd feel more...paranoid about having to feel guilty.

And that's Maybe.
