Well, I recently particpated in another lapping day at Shannonville Motorsports Park. This track has multiple layouts available. The video below is of me trying my best to keep up with my friend's Cayman S. My friend has quite a bit more experience than me and he obviously has a better track car along with R-compounds tires too. My car is all stock, but I did replace the stock Pirelli P Zero Rosso's with Michelin Pilot Sport 2's. ESP was left on and the transmission left in automatic Sport (S) mode.

The rules were that you can only pass if the car ahead of you gives you a signal. As you will see in the video, that can slow you down sometimes if the person ahead in the slower car doesn't give the signal right away.

Wow....5 days and not even one reply.....nobody impressed I kept up with a Cayman S on a track??....

Thats a pretty awesome story you have here, keeping up with the Cayman S is no small feet. It shows the abilities of yourself and the C55, nice going man.

The video was awesome. You pushed your AMG pretty hard. It's nice to see someone actually taking their car to the track. Too many people have high performance cars that never see anything aside from traffic and the mall. I've had a couple days at the track myself and I can't wait to get back. If you're interested in some performance driving literature, I would recommend Going Faster by Carl Lopez. It's my bible for the track. Yup, got that book last year and read most of it already. It's really a great book to learn the basics of track driving. I noticed significant improvements in my driving on the track after applying the basic principles.

By the way, nice track pics too!!
