The A8 is immaculately built, if you ever had a chance in one you'll realise how much thought has been put into the car. From the soft, very plush leather seats (bad thing is they wear off really quickly) to the LED rear and indicator lights, this car feels very futuristic. Much more so than the E-Class if you were to replace it.

But I'm still not sure if you'll like its comfort. Its rather sport oriented. An A8 4.2 quattro will appease a keen driver but maybe not one who loves a cosetting ride home. Also, it will be replaced in 2 years.
Thanks, Mirage. I heard great things from the A8, I have to see it for myself

It's important to be "in touch" with the road, that's why I like the old E and find the S too detached.
I do like comfort, but not to the marshmallow point . Remember, I drive the C and the 6-er and find them OK.

I Often take off my shoes to drive the E just so I have a more "road info"

(very impotant with our wonderful unexpected and torrential rains )

I'll have to try an A8 and convince the nice people from the dealer to let me drive it home.

I don't think car length is a problem; the garage is 7 meters long , (22ft ) a Maybach 62 fits in that sense, it's the doors that make it iffy

Hello all:

The E-Class is still in the garage, we swapped places to where the 6-er used to be, and I'm taking the little C-class with me everyday ( which reminds me I spent a fortune upgrading the stereo so now I enjoy it )

Believe it or not, after measuring garages, cars, trucks and all I've decided to follow your advise and wait till the the replacement models are in, less than 2 years .. right?

I loved the 7, the A8, the G-class, the M5, the S-class and the Q7.

Many thanks for your suggestions, I've learned a lot and am even better prepared to decide

hummm.. I think we'll need more garage space

Hi Car Diva,

After seeing pictures of your garage, the car that is missing is an AUDI.

Think about it:

Audi, BMW and Mercedes: the big German three. Now that would be a nice garage! How about an A5?

The Audi A8 is an awesome car!! I really like the interior design and in combination with that great looking exterior it's one of the best luxury cars.

What about merging two doors into one big door? Could cost quite a bit though.. But you would probobly be able to fit a plane in there if you did

Thanks for the suggestion; making a double door would really ruin the design of the house.

Also, we are awaiting the newer models of the cars I was considering.

The E-class does not go out as often now, I take my Bruno Sacco C-class weekdays and the 6-er on weekends.

The X6 is calling my attention ( as an add-on).... and the garage space theme shows up again..
