MINI is not german.
*** are germans considering MINI as a german (BMW) car, but Seat, Skoda, Bentley, Lamborghini, Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge are foreign ?!

Re: AUTO TROPHY 2005 - the winners are?

Audi = takes 3 categories
BMW = takes 2 categories
Porsche = takes 2 categories
MB = takes 1 category

Surprising to see that A8 is ranked higher than new S-class

Re: AUTO TROPHY 2005 - the winners are?

I agree with many of the choices but I'm really suprised that Hummer H3 got ranked higher than the Cayenne. The Hummer H3 is one of the worst SUVs out there.

Besides its a brand new S-class so I thought it would take the first place.

Re: AUTO TROPHY 2005 - the winners are?

To me it isn't that suprising, the result is from a public survey and very opinionated and therefor suprises are inevitable. Just like The H3 got a better ranking like the RR sport.

Mini and Ford (European Models) are considered German here in Germany. I've seen TV report about the Mini Frankfurt Concept and almost every one was working on it was German. So actually just a little of the English identity of Mini remained since BMW has taken over Mini.

I wasn't that surprised. The first two places were clearly taken by either the new S or the A8. The A8 has gained an extremely strong image in the last few years, not only because it's an amazing car but also because of the "mistakes" BMW and Mercedes made in that period. BMW with its shoking 7er design and the S (w220) with its Quality problems.

No surprise for me. Audi set so high standards with the A8 that S class failed to beat them.

Also nice to see that A6 won and A4 second behind 3 series.

Mercedes only won in the van segment.
