It just happens that i am ahead of my time. Mercedes used to be the No1, BMW is now the No1 , Audi will be the next No1.

At which point they will pull out the sales reports, as well as projected sales figures for the fairly newly released SLK, ML and R-class, and laugh?

I don't think that Mercedes would be worried about this. Honestly, congratulations to those who won, but this is a relatively small sample, and not a very representative sample either. I suppose it wouldn't hurt them if their cars were more appealing to people who read car magazines, but I doubt it's keeping them awake at night.

IMO Volkswagen has the best advertising of all German carmakers.

Ninenty thousand people are a SMALL SAMPLE? JD Power uses around 50 thousand owners as sample for the initial quality survey. That is not a representative sample either cause only those who mail back the form participate?

Yeh they mail thier survey's and a new $1. dollar bill to new car buyers, and the survey is pretty thorough, my fiance filled out ours on the FX. I would definatley trust thier survey, probably the most thorough! imo.

lOl! What more could you expect from a public survay with most
people who are uneducated about cars anyway.

Snake, while the sales of those models may be good, sales overall are stagnant because their traditional offerings, C and E, have suffered significantly in the face of stiff competition and quality woes. If a so-called 'model offensive' only maintaines sales rather than moving them forward, then somthing is wrong. The last thing they should be doing is laughing. The E and C, along with the s-class, are their core product offerings.

I wouldn't say its a small sample, but it certainly isn't a representative sample.

Since Audi won most of the awards i would say that they are very well informed about good cars.

why should they be more uneducated than us?
The winners were based on the readers opinions. If they read the mag they must know something about cars. Why read it if you not intrested in cars
