Recent cars with the greatest character. - 11-17-2005, 01:36 AM

I was thinking about this after discussing the Bugatti Veyron. To me, the Veyron, although an undoubtedly awesome vehicle, has not got a lot of true character.

Here are the cars produced in the past decade that I would nominate as having the most character.

Porsche 911 993 Turbo

Ferrari F40

Mercedes-Benz Geländewagen

Bentley Continental T

Bentley Continental SC

Bentley Azure

Bentley Arnage

BMW Z8

Pagani Zonda F

Alfa Romeo Spider

What do you guys think?, what else should be added - pre FC Fiat Multipla? - as much as some people hated it, it did have character. What about the Dodge Viper, or the Aston Martin Vanquish and DB9?

I absolutely agree with your choice of the F40, 993 Turbo and the Zonda - all have loads of character.

I think the Holden Monaro has a lot of character:

I think a lot of British and Italian cars make the list by default, but here a few that I think have some real character:

Aston-Martin DB9 Volante

Ferrari F430 Spider

Land Rover Range Rover Sport

I love the stubby look, here in profile -

Chrysler 300C SRT-8

More to come...gotta find the right pics.

A few more cars with character:

Saab 9-3 Convertible - The non-conformist choice. I've always liked this car.

Audi A8L W12

Ok I cheated with this shot, its the S8 -

More in a bit.

Oh my how could I forget one of the most timeless cars on the road today! Now this is "character" for real -

Old-world British character in spades. Hard to believe this car has been with us since 1997 and still looks so good.
