Hmm, I can't help thinking the next GTR will be a bit soulless. IMO, it's hard to judge whether brand new, on sale cars have character, because they're sort of exciting just for their newness. I'm almost tempted to think the latest M5 has performance and power, but almost not character.. but hey, I'm not a masochist

I guess it just has a different sort of character to what I prefer. Still, I also think the CLS doesn't have character. Striking design, but not character.

I second that Roberto (but count me out of the wedding!). It's more than just great performance, or good looks. It's more than rareness or exclusivity. It's something special, something that makes the car outstanding. Not just 'more than its peers', but something different.
I second the Delta Integrale and the Skyline GTR; I liked the R32 the best, actually. The shape is a killer. Otherwise.. it's a little bit older, but the Ferrari 288 GTO? Homologation car for the road. Porsche 959, to go with the F40. McLaren F1 - I was never such a fan, but its infamy brings it a modicum of character, not to mention its performance. I think the Z8 and the Clio V6 have character, too.
