Don't really agree. The tipical muscle car is american. Perhaps the main diference between european and american muscle cars are that europeans aren't just muscle cars, they also have (a lot) better driving dynamics.
The american motto was bigger, wider, lower and a big V8. Perhaps this is the reason europeans cracked the (premium) american market.
Now an E60 M5 is trully a muscle car, but also an inteligent and great driver's car.

When I think of muscle cars, American cars come to mind first: So old Mustangs, Corvettes etc. Like the old Stingray 'vette. Can someone get me some pics?

There may be some older MBs that I classify as muscle cars, the 560 SEC that someone posted. What would be sweet is a 500E Coupe' that would be hottt.

I think living in America can bring about a slightly jaded preception as to what muscle cars are, or what classifies a "muscle car", there's always room for interpretation.

Modern day muscle cars to meodge Viper SRT10, 'Vetter, Stangs, M5/6, MB AMGs...in that sense, anything with brutal amounts of horsepower...

It's all about the engine and performance specs, not what kind of car it is, you'd never call a Mustang V6 a muscle car... unless you're desperate.

When you say "Muscle Cars", I think of the good old "US of A" but lets not forget the AC Shelby Cobra, the original "muscle car", was a little British car with a big American engine.

I guess the old Aston Martin V8 Vantage is a great British muscle car.

I always have thought it looks a little bit like a Mustang.

Just a couple more. The V8 Volante. This car has so much charisma.
