Ummm..... Alex? 24"s

That is absolutely crazy, ... 24"s and they don't even look big. They fit perfectly for those type of wheels. If they weren't all chromey n all, I could so easily mistake them for stock wheels.

I don't know why I'm so shocked and everything, ... I've seen the car in person a handful of times and sat in it....so I should be used to the car's size.... but it's still gobsmackingly BIG and Presence to BURN!

What a CAR!!!

Nice rims Alex.

When I first saw the Phantom, it wasn't love at first site for me. But I have grown to really like it very much in all it's brash, block-like, glory - in white, you would expect it to look like a great big refrigerator but somehow it retains it's dignity.

BTW, remember this one. I like those rims but they probably wouldn't go down well in some circles, they might be considerred a bit too flashy.

all the phantoms i`ve seen with after market wheels are chromed, i need to see one with non chromed rims i dont really like chromed rims but they look great on black Phantoms particulary.

Don't you just love that little stroke of genius by the RR engineers in keeping the RR badge in the wheel upright, rather than having it rotate with the rest of the wheel.
It really shows in that picture...!

..and as for that black Phantom with the chrome wheels, ...well, I'm the same as emerati in that usually I do not like chrome wheels at all, ..but with the vast amount of chrome on the Phantom, chrome wheels look right at home.


** I was just wondering, what other little clever features are on the Phantom. There's the non-rotating logo in the wheels. The lowering of the Spirit of Ecstacy logo into the grill. The umbrella inside the rear door. ..what else do you guys know of about this car ?

in case of an accident so it doesnt get damaged.

Rob... yes i remeber those rims, the car looks very sexy and sleek in white. I just feel its a royal color for a car like that!

The chrome rims are not my thing. They look too bling-bling for my tastes and the stock wheels on the Phantom look fine.

For all you old classic car fans, does anyone think the rear of the Phantom resembles the Daimler DS420 Limousine? I've never really noticed this until I saw Roberto's post of the black chrome-wheeled Phantom. Looking at the last picture, the Daimler just popped in my mind.

I've never really thought that before 450SEL 6.9, but it is an interesting observation. It probably is because it tapers at the rear like the old Daimler - incidentally, I've never really been a fan of those old Daimler limousines and I know they were notoriously disliked by chauffeurs because the drivers compartment is so cramped. Still, the Dailmler limousine was such a mainstay of the British aristocracy - probably even more so than Rolls-Royce and Bentley.



This is a concept model for a proposed new Daimler limousine with a "Bangle boot" on crack.

The Daimler DS420 was the choice of aristocrats in the UK and its colonies abroad and I've always felt it oozes prestige from every piece of the car. I don't much like the early DS420s. During its twenty-year run, only one major facelift was done and that was in 1980. Interestingly, Daimler shifted the nose and side panels of the DS420 lower during the early-1980s. The same thing was done with another all-time favourite of mine, the Peugeot 604.

Chauffeurs might not like the Daimler, but drivers didn't exactly adore the early Jaguar E-Type with its heart-attack brakes and glass you couldn't see out of at night. The DS was a passengers' car. That new Daimler limousine drawing deserves to go in the trash bin and shouldn't merit consideration for production. Good God, I always thought it looked like a LWB Nissan 350Z.
