I noticed the potential for a Passat grill mod and got to work!

It's an in-process project at this point. Has anyone else got a custom lower grill?





Next job is to finish sand the grill surround and spray it blue... this "paint" done by computer.

Have you done anything to the rear?

W12 tips are going on and I'll have the valences painted to match the body. May debadge her when the tips are in!

I wonder if one can lightly tint the tail lights to imitate the new look?

I think a debadge(definatley the 'V8 4.2' and '4motion') and a slight tint would look great!

Can't wait to see the look with the W12 pipes either. How much did those run you?

The W12 tips were about $200.00 off ebay. The lower valence cost about the same.

I just put the original front grill back on because the plan for the lower grill doesn't include mesh.

Here are some photos of the nearly finished product. It needs clearcoat and a means to hold it securely in place.






In these photos the grill shell is protruding about 2 mm from its true mounting location.

0. Too Radical, take it off!
1. Bland/boring, take it off.
2. Good enough to keep.
3. Great, keep it on!
